Can any PNG be compressed to 50 KB?

Not always. A large photographic image with millions of colours may not reach a small target without visible quality loss, because PNG is lossless for colour data. Screenshots, logos and flat-colour graphics compress dramatically better.

Would JPEG be a better choice than PNG?

For photographs, usually yes — JPEG is built for continuous-tone images and will be far smaller at the same perceived quality. Keep PNG when you need transparency, or for text and sharp edges where JPEG introduces halos.

Is my image uploaded to compress it?
