About these measurement tools
Everyday calculations go wrong at a handful of known spots, and these tools are built around them. Temperature converts with an offset, not just a ratio, so differences and absolute values behave differently. Time-zone gaps are not constants — they shift when either side changes its clocks, several weeks apart across regions. Percentages do not cancel: down twenty then up twenty does not return to the start. Each calculator handles its trap explicitly rather than assuming you remembered it.
The estimates are labelled as estimates. Health figures like BMI and daily calories are population formulas applied to one person — useful starting points, not measurements — and the pages say so alongside the numbers. Where a calculation has a convention choice, like how an exact age counts month boundaries, the tool picks the standard one and tells you what it picked.
