## Our understanding of the brief
Marlowe & Finch wants a refreshed logo and a lightweight style guide (colors, type, one pattern) to use across the storefront sign, social posts, and the website, while keeping the hand-drawn feel customers already associate with the shop.
## Deliverables
- Logo: 3 initial concepts, 2 rounds of revision on the chosen direction
- Final logo files (SVG, PNG, PDF) in color and single-color
- One-page style guide PDF: palette, typography, one decorative pattern
## Price
Phase 1 - Concepts (3 directions): $600, due on kickoff
Phase 2 - Revisions and finals on the chosen concept: $500, due on approval
Phase 3 - Style guide: $400, due on delivery
Total: $1,500
## Assumptions
Client supplies existing brand materials and one round of consolidated feedback per phase, not per person. Additional concept directions or revision rounds are billed at $75/hour.
This quote is valid until Sep 25, 2026.
How to use it well
- →Restate the brief in your own words before pricing it - most scope disputes trace back to the client and freelancer having quietly imagined a different final deliverable from day one.
- →Price phases around a deliverable the client can see, not around your hours - it reads as fairer, and it gives you a natural, defensible point to pause if the relationship goes sideways.
- →An assumptions section only earns its keep if it names the specific thing you expect to be given - "client supplies content" prevents more arguments than any clause about scope creep.
